A bit about me

I am called Catherine Bellamy. I have been brought up near the beautiful seaside of Torquay by my Mum and Dad with my elder Sister Rebecca. As well as my Art I work as a swimming teacher and an Aqua Aerobics Instructor.

Qualifications:

10GCSE's, 1 AS Level, 3 A Levels, NPLQ- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification, level 1 and level 2 swimming teacher STA association, Aqua Fit Teacher for shallow water.

My life with Art:

I have been drawing since I was very young. I have always been creative, enjoyed Art and felt a real sense of achievement with each drawing and painting. My teachers at school and sixth form always told me I had the natural ability to draw and paint. I always put in 100% effort to achieve the best I could, which paid off with my results, achieving an 'A*' at GCSE and an 'A' grade at A Level.

I carried on painting after I left sixth form, having a real passion to create Art. I have painted Animals, Sunsets, Portraits and still life. My favorite things to paint are animals but I have enjoyed drawing/ sketching everything that I have so far created. I am open to any special requests that you would like painted, whether it is of a larger scale of a painting I have created already or you would like a painting of your animal etc. 

On request from a customer, who comes in regularly to my old place of work where I was a lifeguard, I painted a portrait of his great grand-daughter. He was a newly proud great grandfather and wanted a painting of her for his grand-daughter and also the little girl I was painting so she could grow up and have something special from when she was a baby. She was 5months old when I painted her. All of the family were very pleased with the painting and therefore asked me to produce another painting of her for her grandmother this time, this was also a huge success.

Also on request from a friends parents I painted their German Shepherd called Eva. They were also very pleased and very impressed with how much the painting looked like Eva.

I have previously had my paintings in an Art Gallery in Ivy bridge, Devon called Lime Square Gallery's, Noah's Ark Restaurant in Paignton and The Little House of Art in Glastonbury.

I have been in an exhibition at the Riviera International Conference Center and are currently in Devon Art Society's exhibition at St Annes Hall, Babbacombe Road, Torquay alongside many other Artists.
